We are very excited to have Georges Descombes join the Indigo stable. Descombes owns old vines on sandy granitic soils in the Corcelette sector of the appellation, north-east of the village of Villié-Morgon.
When starting out in the late 80s, Georges tasted fellow Morgon producer Marcel Lapierre’s wines and he knew that this was the style of wine that he should also be producing. In the winery, he uses absolutely no sulphur or filtration. Where his style differs is that he leaves the must to undergo cold carbonic maceration for a whole 30 days.He then ages his wines for around a year (in barrels for the Vieilles Vignes) prior to bottling. Further extended ageing in bottle helps these natural wines to stablise and develop. The resulting wines are amazingly fresh and mineral whilst having the structure to age. The Régnié is arguably the best example from this Cru.
