Ra Nui, which means 'lots of sun' in Maori, is a boutique winery located in the Wairau Valley area of Marlborough where the wines tend to be have a little more roundness and flesh.
At Ra Nui, their motto is "the wine is in the grape" and so they focus on the vineyard. Being small and focused allows them the hands on intensity that only a small winemaker can have. They are a member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, an organisation which promotes environmentally focused vineyard practices, and which also aims to provide a quality assurance guarantee from the vineyard to the winery.
