Ultreia de Valtuille | Raúl Perez

Ultreia de Valtuille is a single-vineyard wine made from 100-year old vines, located just west of the town of Valtuille de Abajo. The word ‘Ultreia’ pays tribute to the many pilgrims that have passed by this site since the 3rd Century, en route to Santiago de Compostela— ‘Ultreia’ means “Onward!” in Medieval Latin, used by travelers to encourage each other. This remarkable red is full of complex mineral, spicy, red fruit, earthy aromas, and incredible concentration— partly a result of an extremely long maceration (90 days). One of Raul’s most complex and intriguing wines.
