The Douge family owns seven hectares of vines spread across 12 plots around the village of Neuville-Sur-Seine. Florent Douge has been looking after his family vineyards since 1996. He studied in Beaune and then spent time working in Burgundy, Beaujolais, the Var and Sancerre. In 2016, he stopped selling grapes and decided to bottle his own wines with the aim of exploring and showcasing the terroir of their individual plots. The estate is located in the Côte des Bar, in the southern part of Champagne where the Kimmeridgian marl soils have more in common with Chablis then the rest of Champagne. The majority is Pinot Noir with some Chardonnay and a little Pinot Blanc. Florent's approach is Burgundian, treating each plot individually, adapting working methods to the site and variety. They are in conversion to organics, and will be certified from the 2022 harvest. We're excited to be working with these terroir expressive wines.
