The Ephemera project, brainchild of Rhen Dodd (Jamsheed and Strenua) and Janelle De Gabriel, represents a continuing exploration of Victoria terroir, with a leaning to sustainable and thoughtful viticulture. There are no fixed regions, and the varietals sourced are ones that they believe are well suited to their location. The wines are made with as little intervention in the cellar as possible, especially during fermentation. All the wines are fermented with ambient yeasts and see some time in seasoned barrels for ageing on full lees. Skins and stalks are included in all ferments to varying degrees, as they believe this helps to convey site expression.
