The Moncuit family has been growing Chardonnay in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger since 1889. In 1928 Robert Moncuit started to make wines under the family name and today his grandson Pierre Amillet runs the domaine. Pierre continues the traditions of his grandfather, working organically without herbicides or pesticides to nurture microbial life and the natural balance of the soils, which allows the wines to express the identity of their sites. They harvest manually, and each plot is pressed and kept separately to give a palette for blending his cuvées. They ferment in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel to preserve the characteristic minerality and focus for Chardonnay from Grand Cru Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
