The bush-trained Zinfandel in this cuvee was planted in 1900, unlike most other Zinfandel vineyards in California the fruit is carried relatively low to the ground. This shelters it and reflects heat back from the sandy soils counteracting the cool maritime winds from the San Pablo Bay.
