Sangiacomo Vineyard Merlot | Once & Future

Joel learned about this vineyard from Dave Ramey, who had encouraged the Sangiacomo family to plant it for his use at Matanzas Creek. The combination of soil, crop, and canopy management, along with the cool Carneros climate, produces a delicious rich Merlot with a velvety texture, full cherry flavours with hints of tar and minerals. Joel reckons it’ll develop beautifully over the next decade or so.
