We’ve worked closely with the Sanz family since 2007 and have had a ringside seat for the development of their wines. Viña Zorzal is now a highly respected producer in Navarra with a particular focus on Garnacha. On a recent visit they showed us an ‘Indigo’ cuvee and when we tasted the wine it really did stand out as our kind of wine. Grapes are from a north facing vineyard in Corral de Los Altos planted in 1978. As Xabi explains: ‘We get the grapes from rocky soil, on the top of a high plateau where the northerly “cierzo” wind plays a key role adding an edge to the wine.’
