Fruit for this wine was grown in an old alluvial riverbed that is naturally warm during the day and night due to the radiating effects of the greywacke rock soils. The flinty terroir clearly shines through on the palate, brilliantly mineral wine, from Chardonnay vines that Rach believes to be the oldest in New Zealand.
