The grapes varieties found on Porto Santo and Madeira are descended from those you find in the south of the Iberian peninsula, Listrão is known as Listán Blanco on the Canaries and Palomino Fino in Jerez. The old vines and dry maritime climate give an expressive wine with texture and a mineral salinity.
