Winemaker Bernhard Bredell describes Granietsteen as unique amongst the wealth of old vine Chenin on the Cape for the perfect synergy of granitic soils, aspect and proximity to cooling ocean breezes. “My hope is to capture the finer elements of this vineyard purely, attining salinity and texture, fruit definition, some depth of complexity, while retaining the freshness of the cool site”.
